The 2010 Audio Theatre Workshop is underway as of this Monday morning at 0800. The “early” call time is mitigated–as usual–by steaming mounds of bacon greeting everyone at the breakfast/production meeting.
It looks like (even in this economy) we have just over 50 people this year with many familiar faces and–even more awesome–several brand new ones!
If you haven’t already heard, we’re joined by audiobook and narration goddess Barbara Rosenblat, the talented audiobook narrator, actor and incredibly gracious Mirron Willis as well as famed Master Storyteller Gladys Coggswell and “animation voice dude” Lucien Dodge.

Classes are underway and auditions follow the afternoon class session.
Today’s classes:
- Workshop 101 (every day)
- The Art of Voice Acting (Barbara Rosenblat)
- A Brief History & The Future of Audio Theatre (direction, challenges, monetizing, etc.)
- Finding Your Voice in Narration (Rosenblat, Willis)
- Choosing Your Digital System for Recording
- Distribution in 2010 – How Do We Get This Stuff Out There?
- A Writer’s Roundtable
After classes, roundtables and dinner, we will of course head to the usual evening festivities at various spots around town for adult beverages and a variety of fun.
Don’t forget, the show is going out live via internet stream this Friday at 5pm/8pm Pacific/Eastern. Stay tuned for the stream URL later this week.
